New Rewards Program for Ambassadors

We have created a new "Rewards" Program for Spec Tennis Ambassadors. This program launches on January 1st. The program allows ambassadors to earn points for completing specific tasks. Points earned can then be redeemed for prizes such as Spec Tennis equipment and apparel. "I'm really excited to see where this program goes," says Nate Gross (founder of Spec Tennis), "Before this ambassadors could receive commissions on paddle sales, and purchase paddles at a discounted price, but there wasn't as much...

Why Spec Tennis is Like A Balance Bike & R.O.G.Y is Like Training Wheels

If you haven’t heard of Spec Tennis by now, let me summarize it for you in one sentence: It’s the best bridge into tennis. I was talking with my friend Dave Fish (who coached the Harvard Men’s tennis team for many years and was also the Director of Development at UTR) about a month ago, and he made a very powerful comparison. He asked if I had ever heard of balance bikes. I hadn’t, and so he explained to me...

Spec Tennis WILL Improve Your Tennis Game

"Spec Tennis Will Improve Your Tennis Game Faster Than Playing Tennis Only" I preach this all the time, but I’m sure there are doubters out there so today I’m going to provide some rationale and examples. #1 Tennis is very difficult to learn. The court is massive and the ball is fast and bounces high. Sure in a tennis lesson, maybe the coach can give the student a ball that is in their optimum strike zone every time, but what happens when...

Spec Tennis Is Revolutionizing How Game of Tennis Is Taught

Played on a pickleball court, all that is needed is a paddle and orange-dot low-compression tennis ball for hours of enjoyment using same strokes & strategies as tennis Carson City, Nev. – July 1, 2021 – Intrigued by the size of a pickleball court and recalling the paddle tennis he played as a youth in Southern California, tennis teaching professional Nate Gross had an idea. What if there was a way to use a paddle and low compression orange-dot tennis ball...

Spec Tennis is to Tennis As Futsal is to Soccer

Soccer Players Train With Futsal, Tennis Players Should Train With Spec Tennis If you’ve never heard of futsal before, it’s a modified version of soccer. It’s played on a smaller field with fewer players and a modified ball. It’s become the norm if you are a high level soccer player to train with futsal. Why? By playing on the smaller field, players develop great control and tactical awareness; they have to create plays in a smaller space. After playing futsal,...

When Spec Tennis & Pickleball Work Together The Joint Benefit Is Huge

Why Should Spec Tennis & Pickleball Groups Work Together? When both Spec Tennis and pickleball are popular in a given community, there is often a need for more courts to be built. I’m going to use Weston, Florida as an example. They have a group of more than 50 players who play Spec Tennis regularly, and the group is experiencing steady growth each week. The only thing holding them back from growing even faster is the lack of available court...

The Spec Tennis Culture

The Amazing Culture We Have and Why We Need to Work to Keep It That Way Today, I want to talk about the Spec Tennis Culture. Since the sport began it’s been amazing, but I think it’s very important that it stays that way. It’s a very inviting atmosphere where someone who has never played before can walk up to a group of players, and oftentimes those players will ask that person if they’d like to try Spec Tennis. And...

Spec Tennis To Trial Doubles Rule Change Carson City, Nevada, June 25, 2021 Dear Spec Tennis Family: I’d like to bring to your attention a provisionary rule change for Spec Tennis effective immediately. *There is a 2-month trial period for this new rule, and if the feedback from players is still positive, it will become an official rule beginning August 25, 2021.* After receiving feedback from players, I determined it was best for the overall health and growth of the...

Today, I’m going to tell you about a tool that 1) can easily be implemented at any facility 2) will grow the game of tennis and 3) can single-handedly transform your program into a well-oiled revenue-producing machine with the highest member satisfaction. All I need from you is an open mind, sound good?
